Army Risk Assessment – Vital to Operations

Army risk assessmentArmy risk assessment plays a vital role in operations and mission management to reduce risk for the best probability of success. Vital may be too weak of a word for what risk assessment means in the military for it is an important standard in the army. While businesses use risk assessment to prevent financial loss, army risk assessment is used to save countless lives. By taking ‘what if?’ scenarios to deduce the worst possible outcomes, operations can be analyzed to take the necessary precautions or make the appropriate changes for mission success. Once the worst case scenarios have been presented then it is possible to take a step back and look at what might cause these failures that can be catastrophic for a soldier. Once the possible causes have been identified they can then be managed properly to avoid those risks and create alternative means that will lead to the best possible outcome.

Army Risk Assessment – Reducing Risk

Army risk assessment applies safety procedures to reduce the risks of injury or death in training and active duty deployment by taking into account several different factors.  Everything from the terrain to the appropriate weapons detail will be taken into account and every possible angle and outcome is explored to come up with solutions that will prevent negative outcomes and minimize mistakes while also taking into account things that may be beyond one’s control.  By doing this Army risk assessment can not only find ways to reduce the risks of any operation but can also be better prepared with plans should these incidents occur.  An Army risk assessment form can be filled out in training exercises that will incur a series of questions regarding all aspects of the training mission to deduce what risks are present that may later affect an important mission in battle.  This may entail the condition of the soldiers with a health risk assessment and how the soldiers performed in their particular duties and whether that performance changed with different circumstances.  They will deduce what problems may have occurred that can be prevented in the future to make the mission a success and reduce the possible risks involved.

Army Risk Assessment – Saving Lives

There are many different Army risk assessment tools available depending on the particular circumstances.  For instance if an Army service member wishes to plan a trip outside of their local vicinity then they are required to complete an Army TRIPS POV risk assessment, an online tool that will help manage the risks of travel.  The soldier simply fills out the TRIPS army risk assessment form with their particular travel plans to understand the possible risks involved and therefore be better prepared to avoid and manage those risks.  By utilizing the army risk assessment worksheets and planning proper avoidance procedures missions can be completed with the best possible chance for success with the least possible risk and this carries into nearly all areas of the Army from trip planning to training and even occupational hazards aside from the most obvious ones.  Army risk assessment is an inherently important tool utilized to create the best possible circumstances by reducing risk and creating understanding and knowledge for all of the military to live by.
